CONGRATULATIONS TO NEW CABINET MEMBERS

[ARANGUEZ, 18 March 2025] – The Employers’ Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) extend warm congratulations and best wishes to the newly appointed members of Prime Minister, The Honourable Stuart Young’s cabinet.

This transition comes at a crucial time when Trinidad and Tobago continues to navigate persistent and emerging challenges, and opportunities, from ongoing social and economic pressures, geopolitical positioning, evolving global market conditions and the critical need to ensure national security and stability – foundations upon which business confidence, investment and job creation ultimately depend.

In this regard, the ECA takes particular note of the new Ministerial appointments to National Security and Finance. These portfolios are among those that remain central to creating the type of stable, conducive environment vital to businesses and investors, even in the short term, as well as preserving the overall well-being of citizens.

The ECA recognises that effective leadership in these key areas will be critical, and we extend our best wishes to the new incumbents as they embark on their respective roles. Citizens will no doubt be eager to see early signs of success via the realisation of quick wins to improve their daily lives and restore public confidence.

For over sixty-five (65) years, the ECA has worked together with those to whom the responsibility of leading this nation have been entrusted, collaborating to advance our industrial relations system, promoting the sustainability and resilience of employers and businesses as drivers of economic growth, and advancing our national development. This is a duty we will continue to discharge in the best interest of our stakeholders and the wider national community.

Notwithstanding a looming general election, the ECA looks forward to engaging with this new Cabinet to continue fostering a beneficial environment for business growth, job creation, and the continued pursuit of sustainable and inclusive development.
