Getting it Right Everytime!
The commencement of an employment relationship brings about specific obligations that the employer and the employee are required to fulfil. However, it has become commonplace to place a new employee on probation as a period of assessment of each other’s suitability and the likelihood of achieving the primary goals associated with entrusting one's productive capacity to the employer in exchange for compensation.
This programme will provide key guidance to participants on the effective management of the probationary period in a manner that leads to better outcomes for both the employee and the organisation. Participants will also explore how to address issues with probationers and the correct approach that should be adopted in the event that non-confirmation or dismissal is warranted.
When an employee perceives any form of injustice, whether related to workplace relationships, disciplinary processes or the application of terms and conditions of employment they have the option to initiate a formal grievance procedure or complaint process.
In an ideal scenario, companies would diligently investigate all complaints since the filing of a grievance serves to formally document the existence of an issue. Where an employer is found to have been deficient in attempting to or addressing a grievance, there may be grounds for the employee to pursue legal recourse.
This programme is designed to help participants gain a better understanding of the grievance process, particularly for those with responsibility for supervising or managing team members. Participants will explore how to establish an efficient and fair grievance management system that ensures the timely resolution of employee concerns, promotes a positive work environment, and fosters employee trust and satisfaction, while mitigating the risk of potential conflicts and their associated costs.
