ESTABLISHING & COMMUNICATING PERFORMANCE TARGETS AND DELIVERABLES, A MUST!

The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) wishes to express mixed sentiments to the National Budget laid in Parliament by Finance Minister Colm Imbert on Friday 30th September, 2016.

The Employers’ Consultative Association (ECA) of Trinidad and Tobago wishes to extend warm greetings to all stakeholders in the Labour Movement and by extension, the nation of Trinidad and Tobago on the occasion of Labour Day. As a premier Employers Organisation, the ECA is heartened to see the strides that we have made as a country, despite numerous hurdles.

The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA), represented by CEO, Joycelyn Francois-Opadeyi, recently returned from Turin, Italy as a successful participant in the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) management training on Effective Business Member Organisations (BMO).

ECA's Statement on the Government's Mid-Year Budget Review

 

The Employers Consultative Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ECA) views the proposed measures articulated by the Honourable Minister of Finance as setting the tone for Trinidad and Tobago to take ownership and responsibility for charting a new course in this period of structural adjustment.  We fully support the view that it cannot be business as usual and, more importantly, we can no longer continue to spend more than we are earning.

In light of the recent industrial court judgment involving Arcelor Mittal and the Steel Workers’ Union of Trinidad and Tobago, the Employers Consultative Association (ECA) is suggesting that legislation be expanded or introduced to provide for the layoff process.
